Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Alnahyan donates gifts to President’s Village

Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Alnahyan, advisor to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the ruler of Abu Dhabi, visited the President’s Village, at Port Glaud, yesterday afternoon and presented a generous donation to the kids of the village.

The occasion was coordinated by the National Council for Children (NCC), and present to witness the handover to the children was the council’s chief executive, Yasmin Umarji.

Each child received a tablet corresponding to their ages, and also clothing which they can wear on special occasions.

When asked about why he has made the donation to the President’s Village, Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Alnahyan explained that he wants to give the children an opportunity to thrive and excel.

“I would like to help the children, and me being in a private sector I would not mind seeing a few Seychellois pilots and nurses in the UAE in the future after they have completed their studies here,” he said.

Brigitte Balette, the President’s Village manager expressed her profound appreciation to the Sheikh and his team for the generous donation.

“His secretary contacted us, looking for what we wanted to provide to the children but could not. We know that children nowadays love gadgets but our budget does not allow us to gift this to our kids and so we took this opportunity and they delivered and we are forever grateful to them,” she said.

She also said that this donation has brought so much happiness to the children as they were eager to tear open the bags upon being handed to them.

The NCC and the UAE have also discussed financing other potential projects at the President’s Village.
