For this occasion the school organised a special ceremony, which was attended by President Wavel Ramkalawan and the First Lady, as well as the Minister for Education, Dr Justin Valentin and his principal secretary and former teacher of the pioneering management at the school, Merna Eulentin.

When addressing the guests, the school’s head teacher, Marie-Mai Ntep, said she was proud of the former and present management teams for making the school what it is now.

“Those of us who have been here from the start, will agree that we are filled with emotions; pride, joy, a bit of sadness and nostalgia,” she said. She also said that the late principal, Cecile Marcel, would have wanted them to take the lead and move on to accomplish the vision that they all set to achieve.

“What you see today is what we have accomplished with the inspiration of our captain whose legacy is before you all,” she said.

The adults of today is working for you, for your wellbeing, for your success and it is you who will be in their role in the future,” he said.

He also urged the children to prevent any obstacles from destroying their innocence.

The head of state also addressed the guests, and thanked the school for holding such a milestone event and inviting him to be a part of it.

“There is a widespread of emotions because we hope that the children gets the strength so that they thrive and like the minister said, do not let anything be an obstacle when you are growing up and on your path of success,” he said.
