Arsu lose to Chief Naval Staff Spikers of Nigeria in the round-of-16
After finishing second in group A on six points, Arsu lost their knockout phase (round-of-16) match 0-3 against Chief Naval Staff Spikers of Nigeria on Thursday, failing to earn a place in quarterfinals at the ongoing Confédération Africaine de Volleyball (CAVB) club championship taking place in Nabeul, Tunisia.
The Seychelles’ side narrowly lost the first set 25-27, before losing the second and third sets 14-25, and 19-25 respectively.
In their first match, Arsu lost 0-3 (15-25, 15-25, 11-25) against hosts team Carthage of Tunisia, before defeating Quatre Bornes Volleyball Club of Mauritius 3-1 (25-17, 17-25, 25-23, 28-26) in their second group match. In their third match in the group, Arsu beat Senegalese side AJD Diofior 3-1.The set scores were 25-21, 25-19, 20-25 and 25-17.
They will now play the classification match for a ranking at the tournament.
