Airtel Seychelles joins Labour month event with creative sports day

Airtel Seychelles organised a full day of sports and fun activities last Saturday from 9am to 5pm, with the main aim to encourage team capacity building.

The programme featured various mixed gender activities such as seven-a-side beach football, volleyball, multiple athletic challenges, Sega dance competition and ended with the traditional tug-of-war.

Staff were divided into six teams where they were each given a name related to the telecommunications industry. The teams comprised employees of all functions and at all levels, so it was a full companywide team building event.

Maria Pouponneau, human resource and customer experience director, said: “This event was aimed at bringing together all staff in a friendly atmosphere and promoting good health and wellbeing, and most of all to encourage team building which in return would encourage better communications between staff that would lead to a more productive workforce. This will surely also benefit service delivery to customers as better communication between staff results to more positive communication towards our customers. We are thankful to all employees who made it on the day and also express our appreciation towards all family members who came down to show their support!!! Special thanks to Marie-Pierre Volcère for putting the event together.”

As the day came to an end, multiple trophies were awarded:

● Overall best team ‒ Team Tablet

● Best supporting team ‒ Team Modem

Jude Valmont, brand and marketing communications manager, added: “Such initiatives are always welcomed by our staff. It feels good to work in a company where team capacity building is top of its agenda. We are indeed thankful to the National Sports Council (NSC) for supporting us in organising such a successful event. I am happy to see staff already in the spirit to challenge the overall cup winner next year. Congratulations to Captain Kevin and Team Tablet!”
