Successful day for GSP 7s
In the Amazon Betting T20 Championship, the GSP 7s beat Vijay Warriors in a very low-scoring game.
Opting to bowl first, the GSP 7s’ bowling unit stroke hard to remove the Vijay batsmen for cheap runs, restricting them to a total of 27 runs.
Sanjay Kunder bowled an extraordinary spell of 2.1 overs, conceding four runs and making a five-wicket haul with a hat-trick in it.
He was well supported by Muthu and Kalvin Deso who picked two wickets each.
The total was easily achievable for the batsmen of GSP 7s who won by nine wickets, with Babu scoring 12, while Rocket of Vijay Warriors picked one wicket.
Sanjay Kunder of GSP 7s was named player-of-the-match for his bowling performance.
In the afternoon, Gran Kaz Kings won against BD Tigers in a close match.
Narendra (28), Amit (17) were the best among the Tigers, while Bhavesh Goswani, Rajrrv Rajendran and Arup Das each picked 2 wickets for Gran Kaz, restricting BD Tigers to a maximum score of 94/7 in 20 overs.
Tim Horpinitch (24), Neel Rao (17) and Bhavesh Goswami (13) played responsibly and led the Kings to victory by three wickets in the 20th over, scoring 95/7.
Bhavesh Goswami was named player-of-the-match for his all-round performance.
Meanwhile, in the Vijay Premier League T20, GSP 7s A won against PRG, and after winning the toss and bowling first, PRG scored 65/10 in 13.1 overs with Manoharan (20) and ArunKavi (15) being the best among their batsmen, while Kothandam who picked 4 wickets was the best for GSP 7s A.
While batting the score was chased by GSP 7s A in 10.2 overs, with Sachinkunder (38), Arun Krishnan (12) leading the team to victory.
Kothandam was voted as player-of-the-match for his bowling performance.
In the afternoon, the Vijay Vikings won by a huge margin against Deevas Kings who opted to bowl first after winning the toss and conceded 164 runs in 20 overs, picking only four of the Vijay batsmen.
Ashok (41), Imran Bafan (60) and Ajay Vekaria (29) were the top performers in the Vijay batting, while Pushparaj of the Deevas Kings picked 2 wickets.
While chasing the target, Deevas Kings underwent a batting collapse as Vijay Vikings’ bowlers Ajay Vekaria, Sunil Halai and Sabir bowled responsibly and picked two wickets each, restricting the Deevas Kings to a maximum score of 71/9 in 20 overs.
Selvakumar Natarajan (12) was the best among the Deevas’ batsmen, while Ajay Vekaria was chosen as the player-of-the-match for his all-round performance.
In the SCA T10 League, there was only one match between Narayan XI and Global Warriors. Narayan XI (77/8 in 10 overs) won by 20 runs against Global Warriors (20/4 in 5 overs) through the DLS method after the match was stopped due to heavy rain.
Sohail Vekaria was named as player-of-the-match.
