Titan Advertising, Seychelles’ first digital outdoor advertising company, is now fully operational, following the first few trial months.

The company was officially launched on Tuesday evening, during a brief ceremony where they also launched their second billboard, located just opposite the Seychelles National Library. The billboards cover around 75 to 80 percent of all traffic through Victoria, a sure-fire way to get a business or brand noticed by the masses.

Titan Advertising caters for businesses of all sizes, whether start-ups or established ones, offering them visibility and exposure for as little as R350 daily. Special packages apply to educational institutions and local artists.

Chief executive of the Enterprise Seychelles Agency (Esa) Lisa Lautoy during the launch, commended Titan Advertising for the business idea, which offers other businesses the opportunity to gain more visibility for their business and services.

“Titan Advertising is another proven innovative business idea that paves the way, creating opportunities for other businesses to grow and expand,” said Ms Lautoy.

“As we all know marketing plays a crucial part in the success of a business by building a firm and sustainable foundation and maintaining a long-lasting relationship with customers. It is for this reason that Esa is urging businesses to make use of the possibilities such as the one being offered by Titan to maximise customer engagement,” Ms Lautoy stated, noting that Esa received positive responses when it used the platform to promote small businesses last year.

The company which comprises three partners erected its first billboard at the Inter-Island quay in October 2022, and the second by December 2022. Director Kurt Lagrenade noted that the first few months allowed the company owners to gauge demand for the service and that demand and business have been positive thus far.

“We follow a certain standard with regard to the type of adverts since with a digital billboard, it is different from television. One only has a few seconds to capture the audience’s attention so we advise clients to go straight to the point and to be bold with their message,” Mr Lagrenade noted.

Clients are given guidelines as to how to design and prepare the right advert in the proper format, and from there they are free to choose a company to produce it, or they may opt to have the company’s associates, Kit Li Normal Studios produce the advert for them.

Thus far, the company has East Indies, Seychelles Pension Fund (SPF) and a number of local artists on board.

“We started with one international brand, Jameson, but now we also have Carlsberg, and Black Bull on board, so it is getting bigger. This is an achievement considering the short time we have been operating, Mr” Lagrenade stated.

Mr Lagrenade added that Titan Advertising has not entered the market to compete with traditional marketing options, but seeks to compliment such sources.

The billboards run around the clock and are powered through electricity supply. Each has its own electricity meter and the company, as with any other user on the grid, is billed for electricity usage.

Titan Advertising worked closely with the government of Seychelles and agencies including the Seychelles Planning Authority (SPA), Seychelles Land Transport Agency (SLTA) and those concerned with road safety, to identify the right locations for the billboards.

A third billboard is planned for Mahé, as well as others on Praslin and La Digue in the near future.

The company can be reached through their Facebook platform, on 2516658, or through titanadvertising@yahoo.com .
