Airtel Seychelles is celebrating its 25th anniversary by giving back to those who matter most, namely, customers and staff.

The telecommunications company yesterday unveiled the silver jubilee's logo and motto 'Young, Smart and Strong', for the celebratory year.

Since its launch on the local market, Airtel has been at the forefront of all telecommunications innovation and technologies, as the first company to launch prepaid services as well as 3G and 4G network capabilities, among others, remarked managing director Amadou Dina.

"We are really proud and happy for all that we have achieved so far. Such great achievements are a collaborative and joint effort," Mr Dina stated, thanking all customers who trust Airtel.

Mr Dina extended gratitude to the government of Seychelles for its support over the years, reaffirming Airtel's commitment towards the government's vision for value for money, cutting-edge technology and further investments for the Seychelles market.

Mr Dina also thanked all Airtel staff, especially those who have been serving with the company since its initial opening.

To mark the milestone anniversary, Airtel will over the course of the year launch a number of new products, and host various activities.

"We will keep investing millions of dollars to provide better coverage, better technology and better products for the people of Seychelles," Mr Dina added.

The first new product which is available to the market immediately is updated postpaid mobile packages, aptly named the Jubilee packages.

The  four packages, all of which include unlimited local calls and SMS are; the R250 package with 5 gigabytes of data, the R299 package with 7 gigabytes of data, R499 package with 10 gigabytes of data, as well as R549 package with a 15 gigabyte data allowance.

As he explained, the postpaid packages are but the beginning of some exciting new products in store for Seychellois customers, with new prepaid packages scheduled for unveiling within a couple of weeks.

All existing Airtel customers who were on the existing R250 package have been upgraded to the new one, free of charge.

As for the staff, overseas exposure and training opportunities are planned, as a way of giving back to them.

The company will also be offering a couple of tickets to love city Venice as part of its Valentine's Day promotions. The promo will be open to all who purchase a device from Airtel outlets.

Seychelles was the first country outside India where Airtel launched its services. It is now present in 15 countries in Africa.

The company opened its first Tier 3 Data Centre at Airtel House, Perseverance, in July 2021.

The logo outside Airtel House was unveiled by financial director Paulian Kazibwe, and commercial director Saadatou Chekou Kore.
