Foreign Affairs minister makes several ambassadorial appointments   

Following the recent approval by the Seychelles National Assembly of three new ambassadors in December 2022, and with the approval of the President of the Republic, Wavel Ramkalawan, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Sylvestre Radegonde, has made the following appointments. This will be subject to the receipt of Agréments from the respective countries.

  • Ambassador Kenneth Racombo will be posted to the Seychelles embassy in Brussels, and will also cover the European Union. He will also be accredited to other countries falling under the jurisdiction of this embassy.
  • Ambassador Georges Tirant will be posted to the Seychelles embassy in Paris. He will be also accredited to other countries falling under the jurisdiction of the embassy.
  • Ambassador Gervais Moumou will be posted at the Seychelles embassy in Abu Dhabi. He will cover other countries under the embassy’s jurisdiction.
  • Ambassador Lalatiana Accouche, currently based at the headquarters, and who has received the Agrément of the Indian government, will now head the Seychelles high commission in New Delhi, India. She will also be accredited to countries under the jurisdiction of the high commission.
  • Ambassador Claude Morel will remain as the Seychelles high commissioner in Pretoria, South Africa. He will continue to cover SADC, COMESA, and other countries under the jurisdiction of this high commission.
  • Ambassador Conrad Mederic will continue to head the Seychelles Mission to the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and will also continue to cover other countries falling under the jurisdiction of the Seychelles Permanent Mission in Addis Ababa.
  • Ambassador Anne Lafortune will remain in Beijing, People’s Republic of China, and will continue to cover the other countries under the jurisdiction of the embassy.
  • Ambassador Ian Madeleine will continue to head the Seychelles Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, and will continue to cover other countries under the jurisdiction of the Permanent Mission.
  • Ambassador Selby Pillay is being recalled from New Delhi effective February 1 this year and will be based at the headquarters.
  • Ambassador Beryl Samson is being recalled from Brussels effective August 1 this year, and will be based at the headquarters.
  • Ambassador Jean-Claude Adrienne, who has headed the Seychelles embassy in Abu Dhabi for the past 6 years, has retired after forty-four (44) years of service to the Republic of Seychelles, of which forty-two (42) years in the diplomatic service.
  • Patsy Moustache will remain the Seychelles acting high commissioner in London.             

Pending the posting of Ambassadors Georges Tirant and Gervais Moumou, the Seychelles embassies in Paris and Abu Dhabi will be headed respectively by Jacques Belle and Terry Romain as Chargé d’affaires ad interim.
