Longest-serving CBS board director completes last term |13 January 2023
Errol Dias has completed his last six-year term as a board director of the Central Bank of Seychelles (CBS).
First appointed on July 15, 1991, Mr Dias is the longest-serving CBS board director. He was last re-appointed on January 1, 2017, completing his term on December 31, 2022.
Throughout his tenure, Mr Dias has also served on Committees of the Board. He was the chairperson of the Human Resources Committee, which provides oversight of strategic human resource matters and a member of the Audit and Risk Committee, which provides oversight of the organisation’s governance, risk management and internal control practices.
The chairperson of the board, Governor Caroline Abel, has expressed CBS’ appreciation to Mr Dias for his long years of service and thanked him for his invaluable contribution to the institution.
The CBS board of directors comprises three Executive and five Non-Executive members, who serve a term of six years and are eligible for re-appointment. The procedures to appoint a new Non-Executive board director by the President on the recommendation of the Governor, in
accordance with Section 6 (2) of the Central Bank Act 2004, are currently being undertaken and will be announced in due course.
