Local high-level coaches to benefit from international seminar

As part of the national preparations for the forthcoming 11th Indian Ocean Islands Games scheduled to take place in Madagascar in August this year, local high-level coaches will soon attend an international seminar in Applied Sports Science to boost their capacity in guiding our athletes through the Games.

The training, which will take place from January 16 to 25, will be hosted under the Programme d'Appui International au Sport Africain et des Caraïbes (Paisac), with the support of the Seychelles Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (Socga) under the Olympic Solidarity.

It will be conducted by three renowned lecturers, namely Monika Kurath from Switzerland, Okeile Stewart from Jamaica and Alexandre Parent from Canada.

The training will cover areas such as sport psychology, tenets of coaches and identifying and fostering young talents, developing a winning culture (periodisation –recovery), physical preparation, and performance planning.
