Minister Fonseka conducts yearly Christmas round

In what is now becoming a tradition, the Minister for Internal Affairs, Errol Fonseka, on Christmas morning conducted his yearly round to the various departments under his portfolio, to share some words of encouragement and convey his gratitude to the men and women serving the nation.

Commencing his rounds at 7am, the minister made eight stops in total, at facilities operated by the Seychelles Fire and Rescue Services Agency (SFRSA), Seychelles Police Force and the Seychelles Prison Services.

At each stop, Minister Fonseka interacted with those on duty on Christmas day, some of whom were ending their respective shifts while others were preparing to start theirs, where he thanked them for working on Christmas day and showed his appreciation for their hard work. He highlighted the fact that their presence and productivity as employees of organisations that provide essential services around the clock, including during this festive season, so that citizens and visitors can live in peace and security.

During his visits, the minister also shared words of encouragement to officers of the different departments especially those going above and beyond to do their job effectively, which he said is reaping the fruits of positive responses from the community at large.

The minister commenced his visit at the SFRSA headquarters on Latanier Street in Victoria, before proceeding to the remand centre in Bois de Rose, the Mont Fleuri police station, and the Montagne Posée prison. From there he made his way to the SFRSA depot located in Anse Boileau, and called on three police stations, namely the Anse Boileau, Anse Aux Pins, and Anse Royale stations.
