Seychelles NATION’s Fifa World Cup 2022 special magazine lottery draw |20 December 2022
Numbers 477 and 501 the lucky winners
Numbers 477 and 501 are the lucky winners of the Seychelles NATION’s Fifa World Cup 2022 magazine lottery, sponsored by the James Michel Foundation.
The holder of magazine number 477 will receive R6,000 and the second prize winner ‒ magazine number 501 ‒ will get R4,000.
The special 48-page Fifa World Cup 2022 magazine was published ahead of the much-anticipated sporting event which officially kicked off on Sunday November 20 with Ecuador beating hosts Qatar 2-0, and concluded on Sunday when Lionel Messi got a brace to lead Argentina to their third triumph on a 4-2 score in a penalty shootout after the score had remained tied at 3-3 after extra-time (2-2, normal time) against France whose star striker Kylian Mbappé scored a hat-trick ‒ the first in a World Cup since 1966.
The special publication comprised a number of exciting features, including stories and experiences of the few Seychellois who had, before the staging of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, been lucky enough to watch World Cup matches as well as those who had had the opportunity of seeing up-close the 6,175-gramme solid 18-carat gold trophy at the Maison Football in Roche Caïman ahead of the 2010 World Cup hosted by South Africa.
Holders of the lucky numbers ‒ 477 and 501 ‒ should report in person to the National Information Services Agency (Nisa) office situated in the car park opposite the Amusement Centre, on Grandcourt Road, to collect their prizes. Please bring along your national identification card or any other proof of identity.
The numbers are on page 3 of the magazine.
Meanwhile, those who still want a copy of the souvenir issue can buy one at Nisa’s sales office as we have 24 left after sale on Praslin and La Digue was not so good.
