Seychelles NATION launches World Cup 2022 magazine

The cover of the magazine

Seychelles NATION is launching its special 48-page World Cup 2022 magazine, ahead of the much-anticipated sporting event which will officially kick off on Sunday November 20.

The special publication, on sale at R50 as of today, comprises a number of exciting features, including stories and experiences of the few Seychellois who have been lucky enough to watch World Cup matches as well as those who had the opportunity of seeing up-close the 6,175-gramme solid 18-carat gold trophy at the Maison Football in Roche Caïman ahead of the 2010 World Cup hosted by South Africa.

An unmissable interview with referee Eddie Maillet, who recounts the memorable experience of being selected for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and took charge of two group matches, is also featured.

You can also read about the eight groups and the history of the World Cup.

The magazine is on sale at the Seychelles NATION offices on Grandcourt Road (opposite the Amusement Centre). On page 3 of each copy of the magazine is a raffle number and two lucky winners will get cash prizes before the end of the tournament.

This year’s tournament in Qatar will undoubtedly have a number of football fans glued to their television sets, up until the end of the tournament in December 18, also the national day of Qatar! For those diehard fans who will be trying their utmost best to watch every single match, there is a convenient A3-sized wallchart, on which to track all the matches, victories and losses, up until the final leg, where the ultimate winner gets to raise the much-coveted trophy.

Seychelles NATION readers have proudly expressed support for their teams and made their predictions. Do you agree, or is this the year for your team?
