Plaisance primary school dominates final jamboree
Plaisance primary school is the grand winner of the final hockey school jamboree hosted by the Seychelles Hockey Federation on Saturdays in its attempt to develop hockey skills among children and promote the sport.
The jamborees are part of a programme earmarked to develop hockey at grassroots level, focusing on children from all primary schools in the country.
The objective of the programme is to promote the sport at grassroots level and provide a launch pad to local talents, thus ensuring future generation of players.
For Saturday’s event which took place at the Perseverance primary school playing field, three girls’ teams and five boys’ selections took part.
In the girls’ competition, Plaisance finished first on six points, followed by Anse Boileau who accumulated three points. Host Perseverance finished third without any point.
In the boys’ group, Plaisance collected 12 points to finish top ahead of Perseverance A who was second on eight points, while President’s Village was third on four points.
Anse Boileau was fourth overall on three points, while Perseverance B finished fifth overall without collecting any point.
