SRC honours long-serving staff celebrating 25 years in public service |25 October 2022

The Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC) yesterday honoured three staff members for their twenty-five years of service in the public sector.
This was during a special ceremony held at the organisations’ headquarters.
In recognition of their support and dedication over the years, the three staff members – Bernard Bristol, Chantal Youngman (who was not present) and Genilla Bonnelame hailing from the Customs Division – were awarded with a small token of appreciation by SRC’s Commissioner General, Veronique Herminie, in the presence of the Commissioner of Customs, Paul Barrack, and other executives of the organisation.
Sharing his 25 years of experience with the Customs Division, Mr Bristol said: “I joined the Customs Division 25 years ago after I heard about the recruitment from a group of friends. I remember saying to myself at that time that I should give it a try working at Customs to understand what it’s all about. I submitted my application to become a Customs Officer and was immediately accepted to join the team. Truth be told, I did not expect to stay long in this profession, but somehow through the valuable experiences gained despite the challenges, I have developed a passion for this noble profession until today.”
Speaking about her achievements Ms Bonnelame reiterated: “I am proud to be celebrating my 25th anniversary as a Customs Officer today and indeed very honoured to have the chance throughout my career to groom and train the younger generation of Customs professionals in maintaining the standard of performance that is expected in our role. I hope that the team continues on the right path and continues to grasp all the opportunities the job brings to grow further in the field of customs.”
Congratulating the three staff members on their successful achievement, Mrs Herminie said: “As Customs officers you are all truly inspirational as to dedicate twenty-five years of service in this role is not easy. It is a very important milestone in your career and you have all made personal progress. For that I highly commend each one of you for the valuable contribution towards the success of the organisation and for always remaining resilient and determined in your line of work. My congratulations to you all!”
The awardees were also congratulated for their long and productive service by Mr Barrack and the director general for Support Services, Christelle Betsy.
