Another heat win and new personal best for Adam Moncherry

 

Swimmer Adam Moncherry once again finished first in his heat yesterday at the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, this time in the men's 50m freestyle where he clocked 24.10 seconds to lead heat number four and set up a new personal best.

As was the case on Monday, yesterday’s win in the heat at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre was not enough to steer him further into the competition.

In the same event, Mathieu Bachmann who competed in heat number eight clocked 24.71 seconds to finish eighth overall in the group.

In the women's 50m backstroke, Therese Soukoup competed in heat number two and finished fourth overall after clocking 32.95 seconds, while in heat number three, Aaliyah Palestrini finished eighth in 32.02 seconds.

In athletics, precisely in the men's 100m, round one, heat number four, Dylan Sicobo finished fourth in 10.74 seconds, while in heat number six, Denzel Adam finished sixth overall in 10.70 seconds.

Seychelles’ other sprinter Sharry did not start his heat.

Fresh from the World Athletics Championships 2022 at the Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, United States, Ned Azemia was also supposed to be in action yesterday in the heat number three of the men's 400m hurdles.

In weightlifting, Romentha Larue was also featured on the list for the women's 87kg category.
