Seychelles to face the Barea in away leg match tomorrow
The Seychelles national football selection will be in action tomorrow at the Stade Municipal de Mahamasina in Antananarivo, Madagascar, to play the Barea in their second leg match of the 2022 African Nations Championship qualification.
The players of coach Vivian Bothe will enter the match with a one-goal deficit after losing their home match 0-1 last weekend at the Côte d’Or National Sports Complex in St Pierre, Mauritius.
Seychelles played their home match of the competition in Mauritius following a ban on international football matches since Stad Linite is not up to the standards of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (Fifa) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The match was decided by a first-half goal in the 25th minute by Rafenoarisoa.
The qualifiers will decide the participating teams of the 2022 African Nations Championship which features only national team players who play in their country's own domestic league.
A total of 42 –out of 54 – Caf member national teams entered the qualifying rounds, split into zones according to their regional affiliations, and the draw for the qualifying rounds was held on May 26, 2022 at the Caf headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
