Rodney Henriette grabs gold in Masters’ class
Back in competition mode following the Covid-19 pandemic, local posers entered the international stage on a positive note, winning four medals at the recently-held OR Tambo Night of Champions competition held at the Walter Sisulu University in Mthatha, South Africa.
Four medals ‒ one gold and three bronze ‒ was the total harvest of Team Seychelles made up of Rodney Henriette, Alain Rosalie, Joelaine Valentin, Ahmad Moncherry and Mervin Dugasse.
Seychelles’ gold medal came courtesy of Henriette who dominated the Masters bodybuilding class, pushing compatriot Valentin into the fourth overall spot in the group.
Henriette also won a bronze medal after finishing third in the under-80kg bodybuilding competition which was the participation of 14 posers.
Rosalie won the country’s second bronze medal after finishing third in the men’s physique, while Dugasse concluded the medal harvest with another bronze after being the third best in the muscular physique category.
Moncherry, who competed in the bodybuilding category, finished fourth overall in his group.
