Real Maldive and One Stone meet in final
The scene for this year’s final of the Seychelles Football Federation beach soccer cup has been set with Real Maldives and One Stone going for the silverware, following their exploit in the semifinals of the competition on Tuesday.
In the clash of the last four, Real Maldive defeated Club Stormy 3-2, while One Stone eliminated Sunrise by the same score.
For this tournament, One Stone were drawn in group A alongside Equator, Sunrise, Sorry, Vision and B. Boyz
In their first match, they cruised past Vision 7-1, before eliminating B. Boyz 11-8 in the quarterfinal, booking their place in the semifinal against Sunrise who eliminated Equator 7-3 in their first match, before defeating Sorry 6-3 in the quarterfinal.
As for Real Maldive, they featured in Group B alongside Marine Maintenance, Glacis, Club Stormy, MLUH and Au Cap.
In their first match, the Anse Etoile-based side beat MLUH 7-3 before walking over Au Cap who had won a bye straight into the quarterfinal. They then met Club Stormy in the semifinal.
Club Stormy on the other hand won a bye in the preliminary stage before eliminating Marine Maintenance 6-3 in the quarterfinal to progress to the semifinal.
To reach the quarterfinal, Marine Maintenance eliminated Glacis 5-3 in the preliminary stage.
The final match of the competition which will also let down the curtains on the 2021-2022 beach soccer season is scheduled for tomorrow at 5.30pm at the Roche Caïman Beach Soccer Arena.
