Government to spend R130.6m to support lower income earners

Twenty-three thousand (23,000) lower income earners are expected to benefit from a temporary financial relief package that will cost the government R130.6 million.

The package of measures aimed at supporting citizens with lower income was considered and approved by cabinet on Thursday last week.

The measures will remain in force for six months.

Details of these measures were presented to the National Assembly yesterday by the Minister for Finance, National Planning & Trade, Naadir Hassan. A full report on this can be read on page 4.
