Seychelles lose opening match to Botswana
The Seychelles football team have lost the opening match of the Cosafa Cup on a 0-1 score in group A yesterday at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban, South Africa.
After going for the break on a 0-0 score, Seychelles fell behind in the 49th minute when captain Thato Kebue headed Botswana into the lead from Resauboka Thatanyane’s corner.
In the opening day’s other fixture yesterday, Angola were to play Comoros in the same pool at the King Zwelithini Stadium, while group B action starts today when Mauritius tackle Eswatini at the same venue, and later Lesotho play Malawi.
The Council of Southern African Football Associations (Cosafa) Cup tournament sponsored by Hollywoodbets will run until July 17 and a total of 23 matches will be played in 13 days.
Seychelles will play their second match against Angola tomorrow (Thursday July 7) at 7pm before rounding up their group A fixtures with a match-up against Comoros on Sunday July 10 at 4pm.
