UAE Minister of State pays courtesy call on Minister Radegonde |30 June 2022
His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), yesterday paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Sylvestre Radegonde.
Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan is representing His Highness, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nayan, the President of the United Arab Emirates and Commander of the UAE Armed forces, at celebrations to mark Seychelles National Day.
“The UAE is not only an important partner in development, it is a friend of Seychelles, and we appreciate the unwavering support that it has contributed towards our socio-economic development,” pointed out Minister Radegonde.
The two ministers addressed various issues of mutual interest that can further enhance the cooperation between Seychelles and the UAE.
Minister Radegonde also touched on the strategies to increase tourist arrivals in Seychelles, noting that the UAE and the Middle Eastern countries remain a strategic and vital tourism market for Seychelles.
To note that Flydubai is expected to have double daily flights to Seychelles as from October 1 this year.
Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan stressed on the excellent ties of friendship that exist between Seychelles and the UAE.
“We will continue to support the development of Seychelles, a country of potentials and opportunities,” stated the UAE minister.
Prior to his call on Minister Radegonde, Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan called on the President of the Republic, Wavel Ramkalawan, at State House.
During the meeting with the UAE minister, Minister Radegonde was accompanied by the principal secretary for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Vivianne Fock Tave; director general for Bilateral Affairs, Lindy Ernesta; and third secretary and desk officer for the UAE, Jean-Luc Louise.
The delegation led by Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan included the chargé d’affaires e.p. of the embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Seychelles, Ahmed Alneyadi; director in the Minister’s Office, Abdulrahman Alhebsi; and policy analyst, Obaid Aldhanhani.
