STC Labour Day weekend bazaar Small local entrepreneurs gain exposure through mini bazaar |03 May 2022

To commemorate this year’s Labour Day, the Bois de Rose Investment Limited and the Seychelles Trading Company hosted a special bazaar aimed at giving small local entrepreneurs exposure and the chance to promote their work, while building up clientèle.
Held at the Seychelles Trading Company (STC) hypermarket on Saturday, the activity gathered five entrepreneurs selling a variety of products from local juices, snacks and foods to locally-made body care products, along with an assortment of plants for home beautification.
Betty Underwood, the marketing manager for Bois de Rose Investment Limited (BDRIL) said the activity was to also offer their clients an add-on, or extra service, in terms of variety of products, while the vendors were selected based on their products which she said were the clients’ favourites from previous bazaars.
“The reason for selecting only five participants, based on popular demand was related to health measures regarding the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic,” said Ms Underwood.
Other than the bazaar to commemorate Labour Day, STC also held a job fair on Friday in partnership with the Seychelles Public Transport Corporation (SPTC) and Public Utilities Corporation (PUC).
The employment platform was the opportunity for the companies to engage with members of the public, while making available information on the various job opportunities within each respective sector.
