The discussions focused on the priorities of each party toward a mutually beneficial collaboration in the areas of youth, sports, and gender. Respectively, exchanges and capacity building in parasports, wellness retreats, global issues dialogue and action among youth, and gender empowerment, in particular, strengthening the gender violence law.

The possibility of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for sports is something that both parties agreed can be a first step in establishing cooperation between the Seychelles’ Ministry of Youth, Sports and Family and its counterpart in Slovakia.

The MoU is expected to result in high-level training for both athletes and coaches from Seychelles. Through the MoU Seychellois athletes can attend high performance centers and training academies in Slovakia, supporting the ministry’s aim to professionalise sports here.

Also present at the meeting were the Honorary Consul for Slovakia, Guillaume Albert, National Sports Council chief executive Jean Larue, and foreign affairs' second secretary, Ryan Adeline. The Slovak ambassador is based in Nairobi, Kenya and Seychelles has had bilateral relations with Slovakia since 1993 when the country was still part of Czechoslovakia.
