Second runner-up at the 52nd Miss Belgium beauty pageant held on January 11, 2020, Seychelles-born Anicca Van Hollebeke has expressed her wish to represent the country at international level, precisely at the Miss Universe pageant.

Miss Van Hollebeke, who left Seychelles 13 years ago, had the chance to discuss her past achievements and future plans with President Wavel Ramkalawan when she paid him a    courtesy visit yesterday at the State House. She was accompanied by her parents ‒ Seychellois mother Mena Hollebeke born Fanchette and Belgian father Eric van Hollebeke who used to work here and was a member of the Baie Lazare-based St Francis cycling club.

She entered the Miss Belgium 2020 contest held at the Plopsaland Theatre in De Panne, Belgium, as the official representative of the city of Liège.

Among her successes, Miss Van Hollebeke, who started modelling at the age of 17, won one of the categories of Top Model Belgium in 2015.

She is presently working on her bikini brand, inspired entirely by the Seychelles islands, with each piece bearing the name of one of our islands.

Being an island girl, Miss Van Hollebeke said she chose bikini as it represents island style and is also a beach accessory which can be worn all over the world, thus, through her brand she can promote Seychelles in a tourism perspective.
