Darts Esparon retains Associations singles title with close win |08 April 2022
Nichol Esparon has returned to winning ways by clinching the Association Singles Knockout competition played recently at the Happy Youth Club darts room.
Clashing with seasoned darts player Terrance Hallock in the final, Esparon pulled off a nail-biting 7-6 win to go even with the former with one singles title each to their name this year.
Last month, Hallock had triumphed in the Curtain-raiser singles played on a knockout basis by edging Esparon 7-6 in the final.
During the Association Singles Knockout competition, Esparon beat Paul Vidot 3-1 in the quarterfinal and dispatched Patrick Radegonde on a 5-2 score in the semifinal.
As for losing finalist Hallock, he met Jack Micock in the quarterfinal and won 3-1 before thumping Hans Radegonde 5-1 in the semifinal.
Third place went to Hans Radegonde who whitewashed Patrick Radegonde 3-0.
It will be interesting to see if two-time player of the year Esparon could match his six singles tournament wins achieved last year. In 2021, he triumphed in six singles tournaments, namely the Curtain-raiser knockout, Association singles knockout, National singles knockout, Association League singles, Bel Air Open singles knockout, and BG Open singles knockout.
The only singles competition he did not win is the President’s Cup which he lost to Marc Pouponneau.
