Airtel donates helpline number to COMFWB |11 March 2022
On International Women’s Day, Airtel donated a helpline number to Comesa Federation of Women in Business (COMFWB) Seychelles.
The number to call is 2828297 and any person who wants advice on their business or even an appointment with the COMFWB representatives should dial that number.
“We thought it is good to support the women who are behind COMFWB and offered a toll free number to assist the entrepreneurs. That is the occasion we want to celebrate alongside Women’s Day. First when you set a right path for the younger generation in the field of entrepreneurship, you must make them independent, help in creating jobs and expose their talents and potentialities to the community. When you have a group of women putting together ideas, it is a must to support them. The cause they are promoting is touching everyone in the community. Our company attaches lots of importance towards the community and we thought it is our responsibility to join hands with COMFWB and bring our contribution towards that. We also invite other partners to support them!” expressed the managing director of Airtel, Amadou Dina Mahamat.
Mr Dina noted that anybody from any other communication companies can use this number to call.
Claudette Albert, representative of COMFWB, expressed her gratitude to Airtel for such a donation. “We are thankful for such a donation from Airtel to assist us COMFWB. With this toll free line we will be able to do more of community development, capacity building and mentoring. Many of our young entrepreneurs call us on prepaid numbers and this is a cost in itself as not all of them can afford making long calls. Mentoring during Covid was done on the phone and this will help us in assisting the entrepreneurs better,” noted Ms Albert.
Currently there is a part-time liaison officer based at the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Entrepreneurship and Ms Albert is a volunteer. Any person needing help should call 2828297 for further inquiries.
On that day Wina Dufrene, a young entrepreneur, was invited to present her business ideas.
The chief executive of the Citizens Engagement Platform Seychelles (Ceps), Alvin Laurence, was also present at the meeting and thanked Mr Dina Mahamat/Airtel for their continuous support towards empowering the youth of Seychelles.
