Apart from the shields and certificates, the awardees also received cash prizes donated by Foram Varsani on behalf of Vijay Construction.
“I am very happy that I am the overall best for my school. I am someone who likes doing lessons at school and even at home and for the exam I gave my very best. I would like to encourage other students to give their very best in their lessons so that they too can be recognised for their efforts,” said Alison who thanked her teachers and parents for helping her in her studies.
Her mother, Cynthia Sinon, said, “Even as a small child, she liked doing lessons. I knew she was going to do well but I was not expecting her to be the school’s best overall achiever. I am very proud of her achievement.”
Addressing the gathering, head teacher Maria said that although not an easy task, teaching and learning at the school takes centrestage while the focus is also on pupil’s attainment.
She acknowledged the hard work, devotion and willingness by the students to succeed and she urged them for their continuous efforts to maintain excellence.
“I know that there are many more inspiring students at North Perseverance primary school who are currently performing well in their studies, We strongly believe that they will continue with the same level of commitment towards their studies and obtain good results at the end of their primary education,” head teacher Maria said.
It was leadership representative, head teacher Maria, teacher representative, Christel Jacques, pupil representative, Rahvin Charles, parent representative, Pascalina Arlanda and the school Council chairperson, Egbert Vidot, who pledged and signed the Contractual Obligation.
The award ceremony to reward the best achievers and the pledging and signing of the Contractual Obligation started with a poem entitled ‘Success’ by the P4 to P6 students and a reflection by the former P6 awardees now at the Perseverance secondary school.
