Auditor General presents copy of 2020 report to National Assembly Speaker Roger Mancienne |05 November 2021

The Auditor General, Gamini Herath, yesterday morning presented a copy of the Auditor General’s report for the year 2020 to the Speaker of the National Assembly Hon. Roger Mancienne at Ile Du Port.

This was in the presence of the Clerk of the National Assembly Tania Isaac.

The presentation by Mr Herath is part of his constitutional duties and is in line with Article 158 (5) which dictates that ‘The Auditor-General shall, within twelve months of the end of the immediately preceding financial year, submit the report referred to in clause (3) to the National Assembly and shall in that report draw attention to irregularities in the accounts audited and to any other matter which in the opinion of the Auditor-General ought to be brought to the notice of the Assembly’.

Speaker Mancienne commended Mr Herath for his work and for presenting this document to the National Assembly and wished him well for the year ahead.
