28th World Travel Awards and Trip Advisor Creole Travel Services in back to back win |30 October 2021
On October 21 the World Travel Awards (WTA) officially announced its 2021 winners for Africa and Indian Ocean regions and Seychelles on the whole performed excellently.
Creole Travel Services is proud to have won in the category of ‘Leading Destination Management Company 2021’.
The WTA prides itself as “the leading authority that recognises and awards excellence in travel and tourism”, holding annual competitions whereby members of the global travel industry can vote for their preferred destinations, hotels, tour operators and other forms of tourism services.
In addition to being ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Honeymoon Destination’, Seychelles also won in the categories of Indian Ocean’s Leading Cruise Destination, Leading Cruise Port and Leading Tour Operator. Meanwhile, our national airline – Air Seychelles – made the country proud by winning Leading Airline, Leading Airline Lounge, Leading Airline – Business Class, and Leading Cabin Crew.
The nation also clinched the ‘Leading Sustainable Tourism Destination’ award for the region. This is particularly celebrated by CREOLE as it reflects the efforts of our sub-brand, the #CreoleEco, which focuses on converting the DMC’s operations into more sustainable and eco-friendly practices. For instance, CREOLE no longer offers fish feeding as part of its excursion activities – despite its popularity – after research shows that it negatively impacts on the natural feeding behaviour of marine animals. In addition, under the CREOLE.2.0. corporate strategy, the company is digitalising as much of its operational functions and certain services as possible.
In related news, CREOLE was thrilled to also receive Tripadvisor’s Traveler’s Choice 2021 (formerly Certificate of Excellence) award for the second year in a row. It “recognises businesses that earn consistently great reviews… a business must maintain an overall Tripadvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have received a minimum number of reviews in the 12-month period that the data was analysed”.
