UniSey, Seychelles Prison Services sign MoU |30 October 2021
The University of Seychelles and Seychelles Prison Services have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
University of Seychelles (UniSey) vice-chancellor Joëlle Perreau and Seychelles Prison Services superintendent Raymond St Ange signed the document on Thursday October 28, 2021 at the Montagne Posée Prison.
This collaboration will strengthen the partnership of the two institutions and enhance the development and delivery of education and training programmes, for both staff and the Seychelles Prison Services clients.
Additionally, both institutions will work together on research projects and make provision for human resource on agreed projects.
Another component of this partnership will be work-based experience at the Seychelles Prison Services for UniSey students and this will assist them throughout their studies.
The UniSey will be providing its expertise, skills and knowledge as part of the Seychelles Prison Services’ existing and future plans in rehabilitating its clients.
Vice-Chancellor Perreau and Supt. St Ange discussed on support that both institutions can give to one another and opportunities to work together on various projects that will also benefit the society and contribute towards the evolution of the prison services in Seychelles.
The Seychelles Prison Services has been a partner of the university since the inception of the UniSey’s James Mancham Peace and Diplomacy Institute in August 2017.
