Football: Caf club competitions draw

Côte d’Or, St Louis leave for away fixtures

SeyPearl league division one champions Côte d’Or and Gran Kaz Cup winners St Louis leave the country today for different destinations where they start their path to the first round of the two club competitions organised by the Confederation of African Football.

Côte d’Or of Praslin are travelling to the Comoros to face Fomboni FC in the away leg tie of the two-legged preliminary round of the Confederation of African Football (Caf) Champions League.

The match will be played on Sunday August 11, 2019 at the Moroni Stadium.

Côte d’Or will then host the Comorian side during the weekend of August 23-25.

In the event of a win on aggregate score, Côte d’Or will progress to the first round where they will play either last season's South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) title winners Mamelodi Sundowns or AS Otoho d'Oyo, the champions of Congo-Brazzaville.

Gran Kaz Cup winners St Louis will jet out to South Africa to play TS Galaxy in the preliminary round of the Caf Confederations Cup at the Mbombela Stadium on Sunday August 11, 2019.

TS Galaxy, who play in South Africa’s National First Division (NFD) and will be making their debut in the continental tournament, will not be playing at their home venue, Kameelrivier Stadium, which is not Confederation of African Football (Caf) compliant.

St Louis will welcome the return match during the weekend of August 23-25.

Should St Louis advance‚ they will meet Malagasy side Caisse Nationale de Prévoyance Sociale Sport‚ better known as CnaPS‚ in the next stage.

Headed by Seychelles Football Federation (SFF) vice-president Dolor Ernesta, the Côte d’Or delegation comprise Jean-Paul Lesperance, Jones Joubert, Benoit Marie, Olivier Bonte, Dave Brioche, Neddy Lesperance, Urry Bibi, Marcus Rose, Colin Esther, Peter Adesina, Curtis Jean-Baptiste, Kassa Voavy, Randolth Louise, Sergio Barra, Cliff Cesar, Ervais Casar, Tony Kizito, Jonah Randriamisaina (players), James Barra      (head coach), Nicolas Simori (assistant coach), Maud Ernesta (physio), Romano Lesperance (kit manager), Andre Bedier (team manager), and Bernard Bedier (treasurer).

As for St Louis, they were reluctant to reveal the names of players and officials making up their delegation.
