Although the Public Health Authority had confirmed on Friday that no approval had been given for any public assembly, protesters nonetheless took to the Independence Avenue again on Saturday to express their discontent with President Wavel Ramkalawan and his administration.
Even amid the rain, the protesters stood together near the National History Museum in their white t-shirts emblazoned with statements in red lettering such as ‘#wavel out’, ‘fight for freedom’, ‘defend our right to protest’ and ‘#revolution’.
Although they did not intervene to disband the protesters as they did the week priors, police officers were stationed nearby to keep an eye on the situation.
