Nichol Esparon gets second singles win
Two weeks after winning the Curtain-raiser singles played on a knockout basis, Nichol Esparon claimed a second singles competition on Saturday.
Inside the Happy Youth Club darts room, Esparon proved that he is the man to beat as he showed no mercy for the rest of the 10-player field.
In the Association’s singles competition final, reigning male player of the year Esparon beat Terrance Hallock 7-4 in a first to 7 contest. He also eliminated Jack Micock 3-2 in the quarterfinals and Hans Radegonde 5-1 in the semifinals.
Losing finalist Hallock beat Bernard Berlouis 3-0 in the quarters and Edmond Azemia 5-0 in the semis.
Third place went to Hans Radegonde, followed in fourth position by Edmond Azemia.
Altogether 10 players took part in the competition which was played on a round-robin system before the top eight progressed to the knockout phase.
The next event is a Doubles competition on Saturday October 9, starting at 1.30pm inside the Happy Youth Club darts room.
It remains to be seen if the pair of Marc Pouponneau and Edmond Azemia will make it two wins in as many contests after emerging victorious in the season’s first doubles competition played on September 25.
