Windsurfing and kitesurfing: Mahé-Praslin crossing Charity race postponed for a second time due to light wind condition |27 September 2021

  •         Crossing set for Wednesday

For the second time this year, the windsurfing and kitesurfing Mahé-Praslin crossing had to be postponed last Saturday after the organisers were once again informed that the wind condition would not be up to the required speed.

Initially scheduled for Saturday September 18, the crossing was pushed to last Saturday, before being postponed once more, this time to Wednesday, only if there is an improvement in the wind condition.

So far, 28 competitors ‒ 15 windsurfers and 13 kitesurfers ‒ have registered for the crossing and according to the organisers, the ideal condition for the race is when the wind is blowing between 13 and 15 knots.

Among the many competitors registered for the race is Bertrand De Charmoy Lablache who is dedicating the crossing to help the Impact Sports Education Entertainment (ISEE) raise funds.

Funds collected will be used to buy special bed(s) for terminally ill patients spending their last days at home, and water sports equipment.
