Haroun Osama’s first test as coach and technical director
According to the comorosfootball.com website, the Seychelles national selection will feature in a friendly tournament in the Comoros between August 31 and September 8.
Other than the two Indian Ocean neighbours, the friendly tournament which forms part of the Comoros’ preparation for the African Nations Cup (Can) 2021, will also feature The Gambia.
Seychelles will play their first match against the host country on Thursday September 2, while their second encounter against The Gambia will take place on Saturday September 4.
All matches are scheduled to take place at the Maluzini Stadium and Seychelles’ match against the Comoros will be aired live on Eurosport.
The tournament will be the first assignment for the newly appointed coach and technical director (directeur technique national, DTN) Franco-Algerian Haroun Osama who has been in the post since June.
The new coach, who was theformer sporting director of FC Martigues and assistant coach of SC Toulon, has described his new post as a lot of work ahead and a great challenge.
In its efforts to obtain more information about the team’s preparation and the players called for training, Sports NATION was unable to speak to coach Osama, Seychelles Football Federation (SFF) chairman Elvis Chetty and chief executive Georges Bibi.
