Ananth Subramanian, who has worked as an assistant Principal State Counsel since January 2011 in the Attorney General’s Office, took his oath yesterday as a new Magistrate.
The short ceremony took place in the Chief Justice’s chambers in the presence of Chief Justice Rony Govinden, some Supreme Court Judges, fellow magistrates, and the Registrar of the Supreme Court.
Mr Subramanian also provided legal service to various ministries during his time in the Attorney General’s Office.
He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and a Masters in Philosophy.
He will now be serving as magistrate at the Magistrates Court on Ile du Port.
