Two new principal secretaries appointed |20 August 2021
President Wavel Ramkalawan has announced the appointment of two principal secretaries.
Ralph Jean-Louis is the new principal secretary for Youth and Sports while Muriel Morgan is the new principal secretary for Lands.
Mr Jean-Louis holds a Masters in Educational Leadership and Innovations from the University of Warwick and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Sussex. Mr Jean-Louis is a qualified and experienced IGCSE Oral Examiner and IGCSE Syllabus.
In 1991, he started his career as a teacher with the National Youth Service. From 1999, he joined the Plaisance secondary school as an English teacher and head of department. He was later promoted as deputy head teacher for studies in 2010, a post he held until his new appointment.
Mr Jean-Louis brings with him a wealth of experience from working with the younger generation which will bring value to his new role as the principal secretary for Youth.
Mr Jean-Louis is an avid sports follower and has since 1995 worked as a freelance sports writer with various local newspapers. And for the last five years he has also been contributing articles for the website of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Mrs Morgan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Marketing from Curtin University of Technology. She has 10 years’ experience in business management where she has held several marketing development positions.
Mrs Morgan assisted in the 2020 elections where she held the post of consultant for communications. Recently she held the post of Ministerial Attachée to the Minister for Lands and Housing.
Mrs Morgan is also a dissertation supervisor at The Guy Morel Institute and does voluntary work to help start-ups grow.
