ISPC reaffirms commitment to local tourism industry |01 August 2018
The partnership between local catering specialist ISPC and the Seychelles Tourism Academy (STA) is ever-growing as the company believes that the industry needs newcomers, chief executive Alfred Fourcroy has said.
Mr Fourcroy was commenting shortly after hosting the Minister responsible for Tourism Didier Dogley on a guided tour of the company’s various facilities on Monday, to see the different services and products offered by the establishment.
Minister Dogley was accompanied on the visit by the principal secretary for tourism Anne Lafortune, STA’s principal Flavien Joubert, along with senior representatives from both parties.
During the visit, Mr Fourcroy walked the ministerial delegation through the various facilities, giving them latest updates on the company’s newest products and imports from both the ISPC supermarket and DIY shop.
The ISPC has been a long time partner of the STA, sponsoring food products, as well as catering equipment.
Mr Fourcroy noted that the industry needs motivated and qualified staff and therefore it is the company’s pleasure to be involved in the training of those future staff.
He added the visit was also a good chance to show the minister and his delegation the evolution of ISPC since its opening in 2006, from wholesaling, retailing to processing, especially now that they have started a farm, producing vegetables locally.
Mr Fourcroy further added that it was also an opportunity to update the minister in their doings to help the local tourism industry.
On his part, Minister Dogley said other than the hotels, restaurants and other tourism activities, it is also important to look at the supply chain.
With ISPC being one of the major suppliers, Minister Dogley said it was important for him to see and understand how they operate, including the good they have and difficulties they encounter and how he, as the minister responsible for tourism can help.
Minister Dogley added that it was also an opportunity to introduce himself as he is new to the industry.
One interesting area which Minister Dogley pointed out was the food processing started by ISPC.
This, he said, is added value which is a very important to the industry.
Other than being regular sponsor, ISPC along with telecommunication company Cable & Wireless also partner with the STA in hosting the annual Seychelles National Culinary Competition.
Other than being the exclusive Heineken dealer in the Seychelles, ISPC also has a very wide range of frozen products working with premium international brands.
It is also prepared to order for clients’ special events or any special order of kitchen/dining equipment/furniture as well as decorations and fancy items for special festivities.
