Judge Ronny Govinden appointed acting Chief Justice |21 July 2018
President Danny Faure has appointed Judge Ronny Govinden as the acting Chief Justice for the period July 23 to August 12, 2018, upon the recommendation of the Constitutional Appointments Authority.
This follows the decision of Chief Justice Mathilda Twomey to take her annual leave during this period in anticipation of the commencement of the proceedings of the Tribunal of Inquiry appointed by the Constitutional Appointments Authority to investigate complaints of alleged misbehaviour against her.
