A cooler school for Perseverance north primary pupils and staff |04 July 2018
Pupils and staff of the Perseverance north primary school can now enjoy a cooler environment to study and work in now that the set of fans they received recently have become operational.
The Indian Ocean Tuna Ltd (IOT) recently donated seven fans to the Perseverance north primary school to help celebrate the school’s fifth anniversary.
During the past five years pupils and staff have assembled in the assembly hall despite the high level of heat. Therefore it has always been the vision of the school to create a conducive, comfortable and aesthetic environment for the pupils and staff.
It was Richard Vidot, air conditioning & ventilation supervisor at the IOT engineering department, who officially switched on the fans after a dedicated IOT team had spent a couple of weeks installing the fans and connecting them to the power supply.
According to both parties, it was a symbolic gesture and an emotional moment for all the staff and pupils. A countdown done by all present was led by the early childhood coordinator, Avilla Meriza.
These fans will be there for the comfort of everyone using the hall for all assemblies.
“I am happy on behalf of the IOT to be at the school to share this special moment. I urge the pupils and teachers to make good use and take care of the fans,” Mr Vidot said in a short address for the occasion.
He also advised the school to keep the fans clean by continuously conducting maintenance work on them.
