Fitch Ratings delegation calls on President Faure |06 June 2018
A two-member delegation from Fitch Ratings called on President Danny Faure at State House yesterday afternoon.
They are in the country to hold discussions with key officials in finance and economy as part of the credit rating agency’s review assessment for the forthcoming sovereign rating for Seychelles.
Led by Sovereign Ratings director Toby Iles, the delegation arrived at State House accompanied by the Minister for Finance, Trade, Investment & Economic Planning Maurice Loustau-Lalanne, secretary of state in that ministry Patrick Payet and Central Bank governor Caroline Abel.
Speaking to the press soon after their meeting with President Faure, Mr Iles said they were interested to find out if and how the change in the political landscape, the cohabitation, is working and how, its impact on economic policies among other related issues.
This is a review that is conducted once a year and the meeting with President Faure was to brief him on the discussions taking place.

Following the discussions which will last a few days, the team will go back to submit the review findings to the rating committee before a credit rating on Seychelles is released by the end of June.
