Linro Global donates hardware to elderly home |20 December 2017
Residents of the La Retraite elderly home have benefited from a multitude of hardware and maintenance supplies donated by Linro Global.
The handover of the donation was held yesterday at the company’s store in Plaisance in the presence of Sylvia Stravens, the director for homes of the elderly, and the administrator of the La Retraite home, Mayrose Mathiot.
Door locks, toilet seats, taps, paint and hardware nails are some of the items donated to the home by Linro Global’s manager, Anthony Johnson.
Mrs Mathiot told the Seychelles NATION that these will come in handy when fixing the various maintenance problems that arise at the homes.
“We do have a fund to take money from to address these issues, but as you know there is always a lack of funding as we also have to cater for our residents, conduct activities for them, pay for transport and so forth,” Mrs Mathiot stated.
On her part, Mrs Stravens affirmed that she welcomes the helping hand from Linro’s Global and hopes that other private entities remain engaged with the community.
