Leon Radegonde to hold major exhibition |19 April 2017

Leon Radegonde, one of Seychelles's most important and influential artists and an exhibitor (with George Camille) at the 2015 Venice Biennale, is to hold a one-man show at the Eden Art Space gallery on Eden Island.

This will be the inaugural exhibition at the gallery since the management of the space was taken up by Arterial Network Seychelles, and Arterial chairman George Camille is delighted that Leon Radegonde has agreed to show the results of more than four years of sustained work at the new premises.

“This exhibition will feature new work of outstanding quality, range and importance,” Mr Camille said.

“Arterial is delighted to host the first solo exhibition by Leon for almost ten years. We have seen the work and it represents the intellectual and aesthetic output of an artist at the peak of his powers,” he added.

Leon Radegonde's work has archival importance as well as great integrity and beauty; he creates complex pieces which celebrate the nation's domestic history and traditions, working in a range of unconventional media and with extraordinary processes which often reinvent found materials, transforming them into striking visual narratives.

Leon Radegonde’s ‘Anakronizm’ will have its private view on Friday April 21, 2017 and will remain open to the public until Friday May 26. All works are unique and original and are for sale.

There will be a fully illustrated catalogue accompanying the exhibition for which we acknowledge the support of ISPC, Mamma Mia, The Printhouse and Silkwater Graphics.
