Indian Association of Seychelles donates to Anse Etoile primary school |05 August 2016

The Indian Association of Seychelles has donated some educational resources and other equipment to the Anse Etoile primary school.

The donation comprises television sets, radio, books, educational games, water dispenser and micro-waves along with other wonderful items.

It is to be recalled that the Indian Association of Seychelles last year adopted the Anse Etoile primary school when a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by the head teacher Daniella Antat, the chairperson of the Indian Association Ramu Pillay and the principal secretary (PS) for early childhood, primary and secondary education Merida Delcy.

Through this MoU, the Indian Association of Seychelles aims to ease numerous projects at the Anse Etoile primary school namely to improve its education facilities and buy materials.

The donation falls within the framework of this engagement.

The handover of the donation took place at the school yesterday afternoon in the presence of PS Delcy, the chairperson of the Indian Association Ramu Pillay, the head teacher Daniella Antat, members of the Indian Association of Seychelles, along with teacher, parents and students.

It was Mr Pillay who handed over the donation to the school’s head teacher Daniella Antat.

Expressing her gratitude to the Indian Association of Seychelles for its loyalty and devotion for helping the Anse Etoile primary school, head teacher Antat said the donation will allow the children to better develop their skills.

“Our school community is very grateful for such donation. Since last year we have received some wonderful equipment from the Indian Association of Seychelles. It shows that it has our education at heart,” she said.

Mr Pillay said the Indian Association has always contributed towards the community.

“We strongly believe in education. It’s the fourth school we have adopted, and we are ready to adopt another one. We are present today to serve you,” he said.

PS Delcy added that last year’s MoU signing shows that the Indian Association takes pride in supporting our education system.

The three other schools adopted by the Indian Association of Seychelles are Port Glaud primary school which was adopted in June 2010, Bel Ombre primary (June 2013) and Anse Boileau primary (2015).
