Football - St Roch get new uniforms |30 May 2016
St Roch football team have received two sets of uniform.
The two sets — blue and yellow — were presented by lawyer Basil Hoareau to the team’s young player Brad Julie in a small ceremony at the Bel Ombre district community centre last Friday. The uniforms have cost R35,000 and they have been printed locally.
The donation was held in the presence of district administrator Melissa Simeon, the general manager of Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort & Casino Gulab Rai, representatives from H-Resort, Le Méridien Fishermen’s Cove Hotel, National Sports Council (NSC), the Bel Ombre district administration, the St Roch management and players
Mr Hoareau said he is very happy to have made the donation because “this is testimony of our belief in the youths of the Bel Ombre district and we hope that the donation will assist the team this season and it will also encourage other youngsters to join the team”.
The second division team’s coach/manager Dereck Forte thanked Mr Hoareau for his generous donation and said the uniforms will be a big boost for the team.
He asked his players to give their best for the team as a show of appreciation, adding that “maybe this will help us move a step further up from where we are”.
The all-Bel Ombre St Roch football team are currently sitting at the bottom of the second division league table.
