Judo - Two instructors complete level one course |22 January 2016
Naddy Jeanne and Calix Cesar recently returned to Seychelles after taking on and completing a one-week intensive judo instructor course in Zambia.
The coaches were part of a group of other coaches from the region who took part in an intensive training held by judo experts from January 9-16 – a first for African countries.
The course was coordinated by the Zambian Judo Federation, led by its president Alfred Foloko who is also the secretary of the Southern African Judo Union, and supported by the Zambian Olympic Committee.
The 18 students came from nine countries and the course was coordinated by Estony Pridgeon, the president of the Southern African Judo Union and president of the Botswana Judo Federation.
The students completed the paper test theory examination, Tachi-waza and Ne-waza examinations.
At the end of the level 1 course 13 students, inkling Cesar and Jeanne, completed all the required examinations and are looking forward to receiving their level 1 instructor certificate to be issued by IJF and the University of Physical Education of Budapest, Hungary.
Both Cesar and Jeanne passed with a grade above 75% which means they have automatically qualified to take the level two which is due to be held in February.
The coaches came from countries like Zambia, Mauritius, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Seychelles.
