Bigger ‘Circus of Samoa’ considering coming back to Seychelles |16 December 2015
Organisers of the Magic Circus of Samoa that thrilled Seychellois spectators in October 2013 are considering bringing back this form of entertainment to Seychelles early next year.
Bruno Loyale, the president and chief executive of Loyale Investments Ltd, the promoters of the Circus of Samoa, was in Seychelles last week accompanied by his son Urima Matavao to discuss this possibility with the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St Ange.
“We are looking at bringing back a bigger circus and needed to discuss this proposal with Minister St Ange,” said Mr Loyale.
Also present at the meeting was Nathalie Didon, the deputy chief executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB).
“Seychelles wants to be seen as a tourism destination where culture is positioned as the base of its marketing. When we speak of culture we are in fact placing our people at the very centre of our tourism industry, because we have no culture if we do not have our people. Today this new drive by Seychelles has and continues to bring visibility for our islands and ensures we remain relevant as a tourism destination,” said Minister St Ange.
The visit by the Magic Circus of Samoa in 2013 was the first time a circus had come to Seychelles and the number of people who queued up to see the performance was a clear indication that Seychelles had welcomed this form of entertainment.
“We are looking at how to facilitate a second tour by the Circus of Samoa that can include Seychelles and we can say that the meeting with Mr Loyale and his son was fruitful,” said Minister St Ange.
