Hockey: Anse Boileau victorious in nine-a-side knockout tournament |28 November 2015

Despite not being in the limelight over the past few years hockey remains a sport that is still well loved by many enthusiasts locally.

Last weekend the Seychelles Hockey Federation hosted their last two of five tournaments held for the year, at the Astro-turf pitch at Roche Caïman.

Anse Boileau, who had dominated things all year round, came out with another victory in the nine-a-side knockout tournament to once again make Plaisance settle for the runners-up spot.

Anse Boileau pocketed R1,500 for their efforts and must be hoping to see more teams compete in the future to provide better competition and also promote the sport further locally.

The other competition held last weekend was the women’s five-a-side tournament, where a mixed team of Anse Boileau and Grand Anse Mahé players emerged as the victors of the contest.
