All-Africa Games - Country’s beach volleyball teams know opponents |08 June 2015
Seychelles’ women’s and men’s beach volleyball teams know their opponents for the 11th All-Africa Games to be held in Congo Brazzaville from September 4-19, 2015.
The draw took place at the weekend in Congo Brazzaville and it was attended by National Sports Council’s director for sports management and development Robert Auguste who also followed the chef de mission meeting.
The Seychelles men’s team are in pool ‘B’ along with Cameroon, Cabo Verde, Algeria, Rwanda and Ghana.
In the women’s competition, Seychelles will play in pool ‘A’ alongside Congo, Senegal, Ghana, Egypt and Botswana.
This year’s All-Africa Games mark the 50th anniversary of the Games, as well as their return to Brazzaville, who hosted the first Games in 1965.
There will be 22 sports during the African Games – athletics, badminton, basketball, beach soccer, beach volleyball, boxing, cycling, fencing, football, handball, judo, traditional karate, karate, petanque, rugby, swimming, tennis, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, weightlifting and wrestling – and two additional disability sports (athletics and swimming).
